In Ladakh, revenue districts are headed by the District Magistrate (DM) / Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Districts are sub-divided into sub-divisions headed by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), and further into Talukas / Tehsils administered by Tehsildars who oversee land mutation, revenue collection, and local law enforcement coordination.
