The largest contiguous halophytic mangrove forest and river delta in the world, formed at the confluence of the Ganga, Brahmaputra, and Meghna rivers entering the Bay of Bengal across West Bengal and Bangladesh. Named after the dominant mangrove tree species, Sundari (Heritiera fomes).
